Bhavadharini Ramu, M.D.
Bhavadharini Ramu, M.D., joined MUSC in 2016 as assistant professor, specializing in advanced heart failure and heart transplantation. After receiving her medical degree from Stanley Medical College in India, she completed her residency in internal medicine at the University of Connecticut. She stayed on to complete her cardiology fellowship, including a year as chief cardiology fellow at the Hartford Hospital, University of Connecticut program. She was presented with the outstanding service as chief cardiology fellow award in recognition of her service during her fellowship. She subsequently completed a fellowship in advanced heart failure and cardiac transplantation at the University of Minnesota.
Dr. Ramu’s clinical expertise includes advanced heart failure, in particular, the care of patients before and after heart transplantation and left ventricular assist devices (LVAD), peripartum cardiomyopathy, echocardiography, pulmonary hypertension, and cardio-oncology.
Dr. Ramu is a fellow of the American College of Cardiology. She is also a member of the International Society of Heart and Lung Transplantation and American Heart Association. Her research interests include the role of echocardiography in advanced heart failure, right-sided heart failure, and cardio-oncology.
Dr. Ramu strongly believes in a team approach in caring for her patients and enjoys spending time educating patients and their families, to ensure the best possible outcome.
